Spring Cleaning…

What Does Spring Mean For You?

Spring has sprung. I love spring in southern California! The weather is amazing- mid-70s with the sun shining and a lazy breeze that carries the smell of blossoms through the air. Sooo good. Something bizarre happens to me though- just like clockwork, every year, I get the urge to purge! To “purge” away old and used up things, things unused (that will never probably be used). You know the ones I mean: we save the Below Zero Faux Fur coat and matching boots for  “the cruise we might someday take to Alaska” or the  snakeskin sequin miniskirt to wear some New Year`s Eve when we dance with our ” almost fiance” who is sure to propose as the clock strikes midnight ( even though you are single and usually ring in the new year with your 11-year-old child, banging noise makers and pots n pans together every year.Who Moi? ( which by the way, I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world).

But I digress! You get my point! CLUTTER. I find it feels so amazing to liberate myself from things I really don’t need and honestly, and here`s the best part, you get to “pay it forward” by giving to someone who truly could use it. ( not talking about the snakeskin mini, which I gave away years ago, by the way) but practical clothing, shoes, blankets, jackets, stuff! Besides, what`s the saying “One Mans trash is another man`s treasure?” I am not immune from picking up the odd piece of  “alley boutique items”( you call it old ratty furniture I prefer furniture orphans) a little refinishing and painting and voila! Gorgeous! ( and getting rid of the old does make room for new, after all) So what does spring mean for you? Do you go into a mad cleaning frenzy? ( once a year I can handle), do you grab a towel and any sliver of sun and warmth you can find by lying in it? ( wearing your sunscreen, of course)Perhaps you take off to see Mother Nature`s finest displays of her vibrant colors: to the desert to see the wildflowers in bloom (Crayolas got nothing on her) Please share your
